Buried Coverage Coming Very Soon + Capture Card Opinions!

Hey guys!

Mario here with an update on what Buried content I'll be covering!

So, me and the clan I'm in (EXaMPlE on Elite) have a YouTube channel now (check us out here). The reason we haven't done any Vengeance gameplay yet is because we all have PS3s, and we don't have capture cards. I use my iPod Touch to record it, so it's not good quality, but it'll do until I can get my hands on a good cap card.

Anyways, I'll be covering the Vengeance stuff once I get back from Spain on August 12, and I'll try to get a good gameplay on each Multiplayer map. However, because I don't yet have a capture card, I have to resort to posting a lot of Zombies content. I like zombies, mind you, it's a lot more fun because you can change it up however you like.

For all the people on PS3 who haven't seen Buried on Xbox yet, check out our YouTube channel to find out how to use the new additions in the map correctly. I'll also be doing a high-round gameplay if people want it, because it can get extremely boring unless you're either:

a) doing it with other people or
b) you're doing a livestream

Ok, so I also wanted to talk about capture cards and my personal opinion on which is best. There are 2 cap cards that take my interest: the Elgato Game Cap HD and the HD PVR 2. I've looked over several videos about which one is better, and the Elgato came out on top most times. The quality is very slightly better on the PVR, but Elgato has built in social uploading, an easy-to-use software to edit videos with and a lot more portability than the PVR (you can fit 2 Elgatos inside a PVR 2).

Once I get the Elgato you can expect several livestreams as I prefer doing stuff live to doing stuff recorded when it comes to console gaming.

Confirmed Stuff for Buried!

Hi guys!

Mario here with an update on everything we know so far about Buried!

So, we know that the basic aim of Buried was to shove a western village underground. We also know that there will be a new gun in the box, the Ray Gun Mark II, and that there are 3 major zombie types: someone you feed candy to, a ghost which could be Samantha and a strange cowboy-looking guy.

However, recently Treyarch released the achievements list for Buried, and this reveals a LOT of stuff to us. I'll be uploading a video here tonight as well, but I'll go through some of it here:

MINED GAMES
In Buried, be their pawn.
Now, there's two different things they could mean by this: one is that the whole map is a chessboard (highly unlikely). But if you look up what the word 'pawn' means on Google, it shows that it means to take something of value and sell it in exchange for money. Could there be two things we need to get: one for Richtofen and one for Maxis, and then we need to give it to them somehow? No, the old characters AREN'T returning, most likely not anyways. But there must be a way...

ECTOPLASMIC RESIDUE
In Buried, acquire a perk for free.
Quite a simple one to figure out: just like the minions in Die Rise, the ghost-like woman will probably have a way in which you can get a free perk. Maybe you have to use a certain gun, or you have to get 100% headshots on her. But, one thing is for sure: she can drop perks somehow.

I'M YOUR HUCKLEBERRY
In Buried, access all areas with the help of your new friend in one game.
Again, a pretty simple one to figure out: the new, rather tall chap that you have to work with can access areas that you can't. I've prepared a backstory for this tall fellow, if you may. Ahem...

"This guy was punished for eating candy."

Beautiful story, isn't it just? Well, he got locked in a cage and, once he gets out, you have to feed him a bowl of candy. Once you do this, he will help to fight off zombies for you, and he can also perhaps dig out new areas for you. This could reveal hidden perks (PhD Flopper) or maybe power-ups.

DEATH FROM BELOW
In Buried, drop the beat on 10 zombies in one game.
This is either some kind of trap, or it's the new perk. Perhaps the 'beat' is a trap which you can buy, which drops anvils into a certain part of the map and crushes zombies beneath them. I'm not sure on this one yet...

CANDYGRAM
In Buried, make a candy delivery.
Oh, the possibilities of this description! My best guess was that there's a conveyor belt somewhere in the map. If you get some candy from the Candy Store and put it on the conveyor belt, you can get a power-up or maybe something new.

AWAKEN THE GAZEBO
In Buried, Pack-a-Punch a weapon during round 1 with no one using the bank or the Weapon Locker.
Pack-a-Punch will be available at Round 1: that's pretty dang awesome! This means that we can even P-a-P weapons even earlier using the Fridge and Bank, when we aren't going for this achievement. Imagine storing a Ray Gun Mark II, taking it from the Fridge, grabbing some money from the bank and then Pack-a-Punching it at round 1. This also shows the Fridge and the Bank are confirmed to be in Buried. My best guesses are there's a fridge in the Candy Store and that the bank...well, you'll know there's a bank if you've ever seen a western movie.

REVISIONIST HISTORIAN
In Buried, rewrite history.
Now, some rumors were going around that Buried is set back before Moon, and that Richtofen can teleport people through time. I believe this to be true. I think this MAY (and I mean, may) be the way the old characters come back. There might be some way that the characters can act in order to save the old characters' lives in the future, and they come back then.

MAZED AND CONFUSED
In Buried, survive an entire round within the maze on round 20 or higher.
Well, there's a maze. Most likely similar to the Bridge from Mob of the Dead. That's all.

FSIRT AGAINST THE WALL
In Buried, purchase the LSAT off the wall and Pack-a-Punch it.
Hell yes! The LSAT is a Wall Weapon. I loved the LSAT and the FSIRT from NukeTown Zombies, so I'm sure we're gonna love this even more!

WHEN THE REVOLUTION COMES
In Buried, return to processing.
Most likely that one Easter Egg which sums up the storyline of the map, like Pop Goes the Weasel and High Maintenance. I think this because it is the most ridiculous, most non-sensical thing to put as a description at the moment. OR, maybe it's referring to Richtofen's magical teleporter of Yellow Brick Roadness.

Official Mob of the Dead Trailer Breakdown!

Hi guys!

Mario here with a full breakdown of the official Mob of the Dead trailer!

If you haven't seen the trailer yet, you can watch it here:

So, let's begin the breakdown!

At the very beginning of the video, you get an overhead shot of Alcatraz and the map you'll be playing on. You can see that there's a massive red beam shooting into the sky. Perhaps this is a Mystery Box or Pack-a-Punch replacement, but it has to do with something.

After that, we get a shot of the 4 new characters and a zombie, who's face isn't shown, walking in front of them. Now, whether or not this is a zombie that Treyarch haven't revealed, I don't know, although I believe it's just a normal zombie as there isn't really much special about it.

Next we get different newspaper cover shots of how the 4 characters managed to get their way into Alcatraz. After the third one, a map is floating onto the ground. This looks similar to a world map, but it may be something more important. On the cover of the fourth newspaper, on the side there is a title saying 'Sickness Hits Hard In Slum', which may just be for decoration, but it may also be a hint at the next map (probably not).

In the next few shots, we get a few shots of the new Warden boss and the Afterlife. The Warden boss is currently known to destroy the Perk Machines on the map, which we believe can be repaired by going into the Afterlife and zapping them. In the Afterlife you will be able to access areas of the map which are inaccessible as the normal player, and you can also charge up the new Perk Machine, called Electric Cherry.

After that we get a look at the new Tommy Gun and the boss again, slamming his club onto something. Then, there's the 2 traps. The Acid Trap, which pours acid onto the zombies that are under the sprinklers when it is activated, and the Spinning Blade Trap, which consists of 2 spinning blades that demolish any zombies that walk through them.

Just something small, but after the traps are shown off, we see one of the characters holding the AK47, which shows that that gun will be returning.

The final part of the trailer then shows up. We get a look at the four characters and the actors that voice them, as well as the shot of the elevator that takes you from one level of Alcatraz to the other. Finally, one of the most interesting parts, the characters take off in an aeroplane.

Ok, this is the Easter Egg of the map, and it also looks like there may be an end cutscene to the map that tells us something about the 4 characters in TranZit and Die Rise. This also means that you will have to build an aeroplane somehow, so that may take a long time.

That's all for now!

The Maxis Diary and Mob of the Dead!

UPDATE: Samantha also had a dog named Fluffy, and I imagine that Fluffy is the hellhound that is currently known to be a replacement for the Mystery Box and Pack-a-Punch, or has something to do with the easter egg.

Hi guys!

Mario here with an interesting thing I figured out just now!

I was looking through the Call of Duty Forums to try and find some info on the new Multiplayer maps or Mob of the Dead, and I came across something very interesting. Someone referred back to the Maxis Diary, in which the middle paragraph says:

"The fact that the test subjects departed their point of origin is undeniable. What is uncertain is what became of them. Doctor Richtofen is insistent in his belief that they have been transported not through space - but through time. In the absence of empirical evidence, I myself cannot entertain such...madness."

Note that the second sentence says that they have been 'transported not through space - but through time". The Mob of the Dead trailer noted that the map would be set in the 1920's, going into the 1930's. And, after being in the present time for the 5 previous Zombies maps, it seemed bizarre they would go back in time to more than 50 years ago. This must have something to do with teleporter that is in the first paragraph of the Maxis Diary.

The storyline that I've been told is that Doctor Richtofen killed Maxis and teleported him and his daughter Samantha to Moon, the final Black Ops 1 map. When Samantha and Maxis controlled, the zombies eyes were orange.

Now coming back to the trailer. Note that the zombies' eyes in the trailer are red, not orange nor blue. Someone has said that, because Richtofen killed Samantha's father, Maxis, Samantha took control of the zombies in that time period and, because she was so mad at Richtofen for killing her father, she turned the zombie's eyes a darker color than orange, and thus they are red. This is really quite in-depth if you're new to the Zombies storyline like I am, but this all sounds pretty interesting.

Uprising IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!

Hi guys!

Mario here with an update on the second DLC pack for Black Ops 2!

The second DLC in Black Ops 2 will be called Uprising, and includes 4 new Multiplayer and a new Zombies map. The four new Multiplayer maps are Magma, Encore, Studio and Vertigo) and the new Zombies map will be called Mob of the Dead.

I'll start by talking about the multiplayer maps:

Magma
The description on the Black Ops 2 site says:
"Lava carving through a modern Japanese village leaves rivers of fiery damage in its wake, providing players with dangerous terrain, compromised cover, and frenetic firefights for survival."

The description given by David Vonderhaar is:
"Magma is about a map that's a volcano that's erupted, and these lava flows are cutting right through the centre of this town. This map features both short and long range engagements. Players will be a little more successful racking up the kills if they carry multiple weapon types so they can adjust quickly to different engagements. Magma is unique because it's the first Multiplayer map that introduces lava as an environmental hazard, so as you navigate the pathways, you'll have to be careful or you're gonna get burned."

This map sounds like it has similar gameplay effects to what Hydro did in the Revolution DLC, with random lava that can kill you instead of the random floods. It looks awesome, just like all of the Black Ops 2 DLC maps so far, so let's move on to the second map!

Encore
The description on the Black Ops 2 site says:
"Set on the grounds following a bustling London music festival, the central stage provides players with a key vantage point overlooking the close-quarters battle of the surrounding amphitheater and main tents."

The description given by David Vonderhaar is:
"Encore is actually an outdoor concert hall, but participating in a Multiplayer map. The map design features a central stage that acts as a powerful, elevated position. Players can assault that stage directly or they can flank around through the stands. It really is best to try to be the rock star in Encore, because if you're holding down the center stage, you're gonna dominate the map."

This sounds like the Grind of Uprising. A futuristic rock concert stage set in London sounds pretty good, although it looks like a very small map that may be very close-quarters and great for One in the Chamber and Free-for-All.

Vertigo
The description on the Black Ops 2 site says:
"High above the clouds atop a mega skyscraper in India, players must battle across a VTOL landing pad and through the transportation terminal, bringing new dimensions of verticality to every battle."

The description given by David Vonderhaar is:
"Vertigo is a skyscraper, and it's owned by the Asus Corporation (sorry if I got that wrong). You may remember the Asus Corporation as the bad guys who built all the drones inside of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. And the one thing that's unique about Vertigo is that the players can jump from one path to the other by smashing through the nearby windows. Players that are used to hugging the edge of the map, you're going to have to be very careful. One wrong step, you're gonna fall to your death, mistakes will be made."

Vertigo sounds like a new type of Hijacked, maybe not as good, but similar. I'm definitely looking forward to trying out the new verticality, as it sounds very dynamic and a great way to move around the map.

Studio
This is probably the most exciting map in the Uprising DLC. The description on the Black Ops 2 site says:
"Set on a Hollywood studio backlot, players will take cover in a wide-array of classic movie sets in this reimagined adaptation on the fan-favorite Multiplayer map Firing Range."

The description given by David Vonderhaar is:
"Every day, fans will ask us 'Hey, can you bring back this map, that we had before that we really liked'? Firing Range. And this package includes a very special treat for fans in the form of Studio. Studio takes place on a Hollywood backlot, where players can fight through movie sets ranging from alien invasions to pirate lairs, jurassic jungles and western saloons. The most strategical places in the map are the Castle Tower and the Tavern because they control the center of the map.

This sounds like the most exciting map in the Uprising DLC. First off, it's a remodel of the Black Ops 1 map Firing Range, which is awesome! Second, it takes place in a movie set, which is awesome as we might be able to take control of the some of the props, or use them for cover. It also appears to be a large map, which is pretty good considering the only really large maps are Aftermath and Downhill. The only problem will be the trolls who use the props to create there own movies, but that shouldn't be a problem: I mean, who doesn't love watching trolling on YouTube?

Mob of the Dead
The new Zombies map, Mob of the Dead, is described to be Treyarch's most terrifying Zombies experience to date. There isn't a website description, but there is a description from Jason Blundell, an Executive Producer of Black Ops 2, who said:
"We wanted to take the story somewhere new. And change the vibe, we're embracing this idea of...horror thriller. Then we went to Alcatraz.
Alcatraz had so many different incarnations. We could start playing with the history there, seeing into the 1920's into the 1930's. You've got the probation area coming in there. You see, that then breeds certain characters that we only see in that time period, and that's where we're getting guys like Ray Liotta, Joe Pantoliano, Chazz Palminteri and Michael Madsen."

There is also a new feature (thanks to CharlieINTEL's site) called 'Purgatory, which sends players to the afterlife if they become an unfortunate victim.

This all sounds pretty awesome! I'll update everyone if there's any new info!

Hardline - Real Percentage and Score Taken Off!

Hi guys!

Mario here with a small update on the Hardline perk!

One of the Black Ops 2 pros on YouTube, Drift0r, recently figured that Hardline does NOT take 20% score off of Scorestreaks. Instead, if you're precise, it takes off 16.7% of score from all Scorestreaks. With this information, I've put together a list of how much score they all require (Note: all the Hardline scores have the decimal numbers knocked off):

UAV - Normal: 425     With Hardline: 354
RC-XD - Normal: 450     With Hardline: 374
Hunter Killer - Normal: 525     With Hardline: 438
Care Package - Normal: 550     With Hardline: 459
Counter-UAV - Normal: 600     With Hardline: 500
Guardian - Normal: 650     With Hardline: 542
Hellstorm Missile - Normal: 700     With Hardline: 584
Lightning Strike - Normal: 750     With Hardline: 625
Sentry Gun - Normal: 800     With Hardline: 667
Death Machine - Normal: 850     With Hardline: 709
War Machine - Normal: 900     With Hardline: 750
Dragonfire - Normal: 975     With Hardline: 813
A.G.R - Normal: 1000     With Hardline: 834
Stealth Chopper - Normal: 1100     With Hardline: 917
Orbital VSAT - Normal: 1200     With Hardline: 1000
Escort Drone - Normal: 1250     With Hardline: 1042
EMP Systems - Normal: 1300     With Hardline: 1083
Warthog - Normal: 1400     With Hardline: 1167
Lodestar - Normal: 1500     With Hardline: 1250
VTOL Warship - Normal: 1600     With Hardline: 1333
K9 Unit - Normal: 1700     With Hardline: 1417
Swarm - Normal: 1900     With Hardline: 1583

I set this out in a rainbow format so that I can tell you how many KILLS (assists not included) you need:

Red means a 4 killstreak with Hardline
Orange means a 5 killstreak (Bloodthirsty medal) with Hardline
Lime Green means a 6 killstreak with Hardline
Dark Green means a 7 killstreak with Hardline
Aqua means an 8 killstreak with Hardline
Pale Blue means a 9 killstreak with Hardline
Blue means a 10 killstreak (Merciless medal) with Hardline
Purple means an 11 killstreak with Hardline
Violet means a 12 killstreak with Hardline
Pink means a 13 kilstreak with Hardline
Light Gray means a 14 killstreak with Hardline
Dark Gray means a 15 killstreak (Ruthless medal) with Hardline
Black means a 16 killstreak with Hardline

Every killstreak gets at least 1-2 kills knocked off, apart from the Swarm, which gets 3 kills knocked off. This is pretty decent, and doesn't make much of a difference to the old scores, but it's a more precise look at the scores!

Gun Reviews Coming Soon!

Hi guys!

Mario here with an update on a new set of posts I'll be doing!

These posts will be marked Gun Review, and they will basically run over the stats of every gun in Black Ops 2, including any DLC that comes out. I will run over the full stats of every gun, my opinion on attachments, and then a score from 1-10 on several different subjects!

First, the stats I'll be running over:

  • Of course, the gun name
  • Which class the gun is in? (SMG, Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle etc.)
  • Level Unlocked At (What level you need to be to unlock the weapon)
  • Damage of the gun (close range-high range, for example 33-16, meaning 33 at close range and 16 at long range)
  • Magazine Size (how much ammo can be loaded in the gun at once)
  • Amount of ammo you start with and the maximum amount of ammo (will be set out like in game, so for the MP7 it would be 40/120 to start and 40/320 as max ammo)
  • Rate of fire, measured in RPM, (rounds per minute)(how quickly the gun fires)
  • Recoil (how much the gun will recoil whilst shooting)
  • Penetration (how much damage the gun can pass through walls)
  • What the gun requires to get camos (what you have to do in order to get to a Gold/Diamond gun)
  • How the gun changes with different attachments

And then, I will rate the gun out of 10! It's quite simple. I might've missed some stuff out (as in, from what I will review), so sorry if I have, I'll change it when I post. The guns I will review go in this order (class order):
  • SMGs
  • Assault Rifles
  • Shotguns
  • Pistols
  • Sniper Rifles
  • LMGs
  • Launchers
  • The 3 special weapons (Assault Shield, Ballistic Knife, Crossbow)
  • Any DLC that comes out

The DLC is not included towards the Peacekeeper as that is already out, meaning I can review it as the last SMG I do. From this list, I can now list the order I will do the guns in (this list is kinda long, skip past it if you want to):
  • MP7
  • PDW-57
  • Vector K10
  • MSMC
  • Chicom CQB
  • Skorpion EVO
  • Peacekeeper
  • MTAR
  • Type 25
  • SWAT-556
  • FAL OSW
  • M27
  • SCAR-H
  • SMR
  • M8A1
  • AN-94
  • R870 MCS
  • S12
  • KSG
  • M1216
  • Five-seven
  • Tac-45
  • B23R
  • Executioner
  • KAP-40
  • SVU-AS
  • DSR 50
  • Ballista
  • XPR-50

  • QBB LSW
  • LSAT
  • HAMR
  • SMAW
  • FHJ-18 AA
  • RPG
  • Crossbow
  • Ballistic Knife
  • Assault Shield
  • ANY DLC THAT COMES OUT AFTER I REVIEW ALL THESE!!!

If there is a DLC weapon that comes out before I finish all the weapons above, I will review that as soon as I get info!
